information system(s) (HIS) includes new ambulatory, unified and acute Electronic Health
Record (EHR) system, computerized provider order entry system, Bar Code Medication
Administration system and Electronic Medication Administration Record. This paper
addresses the evaluation criteria of the selected HIS system. Besides, the paper detailed the
evaluation goals and the viewpoint as well.
In essence, concerning the three hypothetical HISs, the new ambulatory, unified and
acute Electronic Health Record (EHR) system constitutes the system of interest worth
consideration for evaluation concerning the project.
For the EHR seems to be a patient
service delivery oriented system, unlike the rest which are mainly about records keeping
(Anderson & Aydin, 2005). Hence the system upon successful implementation will lead to
effectiveness and efficiency in the workflow which will enhance process of providing services
to the patients. Besides, the system is all-inclusive serving the various hospitals as
organization entities. The system works for the good of the patients while withholding the
interests of nurses and other medical practitioners who use the system to serve the patients.
Notably, the following constitutes of the evaluation goals to be achieved upon
successful evaluation of the EHR project. Detail the worthiness of the benefits projected upon
successful implementation of the project versus the economic implications, the cost of
undertaking the project (Nguyen et al. 2014). Besides, evaluate where it is technically, legally,
strategically or operationally feasible to implement the project. This puts into consideration
the human aspects, organizational policies, technological issues per the regulatory framework
set by various health care concerned entities (Nguyen et al. 2014). Hence the viewpoint that
governs evaluation plan is the relevance of the system concerning the human implications,
organizations needs, and the technological implications per the legal healthcare regulatory

system in question. The use of the human, organization and technology-fit evaluation model
shortened as (HOT-fit) (Anderson & Aydin, 2005). The model evaluates the EHR against the
three special entities that includes the human aspects, the organization’s demands and the
technology involved. The human aspect includes. Identifications of the system worthiness in
serving the patients demands while on the service delivery for the medics while withholding
the health regulatory policies.
Besides, organization entity addresses how the system assists the organization in
achieving its mission and progress towards its vision, how does the system contribute to the
betterment of the service delivery by the organizations. Also, this component seeks to answer
where the system upholds the healthcare regulatory policies per the health agencies that are
concerned with the implementation of the HISs (Nguyen et al. 2014). The technology entity,
which seeks to evaluate the technology behind the given system, does the technology uphold
the health regulations and Acts concerned with the use of HISs. For instance, does the
