A Summative Evaluation is a method of judging the value of a program at the end of the program courses and activities. This typically involves
the preparation of a formal report outlining the impact of the course of study. St. Petersburg College is accredited by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools (SACS) and part of the accreditation process requires programs to validate that students meet the stated Program-Wide
Goals/Objectives. In the BASHSA program, we will use the individual student Summative Evaluation of our program as well as the learning
contract measures as a means to determine that the Mission Statement Program-Wide Goals/Objectives are being adequately met. As stated in the
syllabus, successful completion of this course requires acceptable validation of the Program-Wide Goals/Objectives.
Mission of the BASHSA Program:
The mission of the St. Petersburg College Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Services Administration program is to provide
innovative and practical educational experiences so students can successfully function as health care leaders as well as open professional
opportunities in health and human service environments. The program will promote critical inquiry, professional judgment, leadership and
a passion for life-long learning so graduates can readily adapt to an ever-changing health care environment.
The graduate of the B.A.S. Health Services Administration program will meet the following Program-Wide Goals/Objectives:
1. Develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary for positions of responsibility and leadership in the continually changing
health care or human services profession.
2. Provide advanced professional and educational services applying the appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal and written
communication skills required for successful performance in the health care or human services professions.
3. Use technology to acquire knowledge, aggregate information and communicate effectively to others.
4. Apply the principles of sound research design to the critical evaluation of scientific literature related to the health care or human service

To get started with this assignment, familiarize yourself with the four Program-Wide Goals/Objectives for the Bachelor of Applied Science in
Health Services Administration (HSA) Program. Then, for each of the nine core courses in the program, identify an assignment that helped you
strengthen your skills for one of the four Program-Wide Goals/Objectives. Next, complete the table listed below using the following guidelines:
1. In the column titled “Program-Wide Goal/Objective” use the corresponding Program-Wide Goal/Objective number (1-4) found above.
Each of the four Program-wide Goals/Objectives must be applied at least twice. You may enhance your evidence by including work from
the Subplan courses as well. If you discuss your Subplan courses, please add additional rows to the table.
In the column titled “Overall Course Comments” make general comments regarding your overall learning in this course (i.e., how did this
course help you to meet the program mission). This column is required.
3. In the column titled “Specific Assignment Comments” include the name of the assignment you are using for evidence of your learning and
mastery of the overall program objective selected. Your assignment comments should be 2-4 sentences in length. Do not provide a copy
of the assignment or give a summary of the assignment. Instead, include evidence how this assignment helped you meet the ProgramWide Goals/Objectives. Failure to include the name of the specific assignment being used as evidence will result in point deduction(s).
