interested in a specialized aspect of backstage theatre. This final
project may only be completed alone.
1. Choose a play: Antigone, Taming of the Shrew or How I
Learned to Drive.
2. Re-read the play and complete the Costume Design
Analysis Worksheet—ONE FOR EACH
CHARACTER.
3. Design costume renderings (costume plates) for all
the major characters in your production (at least 4).
You must create male and female plates (you can find
templates online by googling costume design
templates and look under images) The final templates
should be colored, detailed, have labeled design
features, and include a swatch (small piece) of the
major fabrics you would use.
4. Create a POWERPOINT presentation BASED on the
following (there may be more slides and you made
include other information including photos, video,
sound, etc):
• Slide 1: Name, Play, character costumes you are
designing.
• Slides 2-6: An overview of the costumer’s job and
process (you may use information from the book
as well as outside research CITING all
references)
