RATIONALE:
This course teaches students how to evaluate
what others have published on their research
topic of interest. Students will develop
scholarly and practitioner research questions.
Students will select the most appropriate
research design and be taught to collect and
analyze data (nominal, ordinal, interval and
ratio). The skills learned in this course prepare
students to write scholarly articles, grant
proposals for funding, and how to evaluate
existing government and nonprofit social
service programs.
This course is intended for students pursuing
their graduate degree in Public Administration,
Political and Justice Studies, Criminal Justice,
or a graduate degree in the social sciences.
This course is also open to public sector
practitioners who want to develop their
research and writing skills.
