Philosophy paper

I need help writing a philosophy paper. This is my topicTOPIC: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SOFTWARE OWNERSHIPIntellectual property refers to creations of the mind: artistic and literary works, names and symbols used in commerce. Intellectual property protection is important because ideas of people would not lead to the full benefits reaping from the ideas. The purpose of intellectual property rights are to encourage new technologies, inventions and artistic expressions while promoting economic growth. Individuals who come up with original ideas can protect themselves and their concepts through intellectual property rights. My view on the topic is that an idea that isnâ??t protected is exposed to high risk as no one can claim proper ownership in case the law was to be involved.Intellectual property rights are applied as either copyrights, patents, or trademarks. And this is the professor comment about the paper Okay, good points, but you need to rephrase this into a problem, such as whether it is ethical to copy something online that was created by someone else without their permission or without giving credit to them. Or, is it ethical to download music, videos or other creative works without permission or without paying for them? Or, even if you did pay for them, would it be ethical to share them with others? Focus on a particular type of problem related to intellectual property, then take a position on the problem, and use a good example to illustrate. There are lots of very real examples out there.Attached is the paper requirementthank you

Paper
Requirements
PHIL 112 – DL3, DL4 – Spring 2018
Important Information
Topic is due: Sunday, April 8, 11:59 p.m.
You will post your topic on a Discussion
Board Forum titled Paper Topic
You may change your topic as you go along,
but you must first notify me of the change
Paper is due: Sunday, May 6, 11:59 p.m.
First, choose an area of focus
There are 3 areas of focus for this course, and
they are the areas you will choose from for your
paper:
1. Intellectual Property and Software
Ownership
2. Computer Crimes and Cyberattacks
3. Privacy and Government Regulation of the
Internet
Do a basic overview of the area
Intellectual Property
Chapter 4
Computer Crimes and
Cyberattacks
Chapter 7
Privacy and
Government
Regulation
Chapters 5 and 6
Choose a specific issue for that area
Case Studies and
examples
Each chapter of the textbook
contains â??case studiesâ? and
examples to illustrate specific
problems in each focus area. You
can use these as a starting point.
Discussion
Questions/Exercises
Each chapter also contains a list of
discussion questions and in-class
exercises to help you learn to apply
what you have read to a specific
situation. You can use these as a
starting point also.
References
Each chapter also contains a list of
relevant articles from websites and
other sources that are referred to in
that chapter and that you can consult
for further reading about specific
issues raised. Chapter 4, for
instance, has seven pages of
references that you can consult for
further information. You can use
these as a starting point also.
State your position on the issue
State your position on the
issue
Once you have chosen your focus
area and issue, state your position
on the issue. Make your statement
as specific as possible:
Example:
You choose Intellectual Property as
your focus area.
Your issue: Is it permissible to
download from the Internet a pdf
version of a book or article that is
required reading for a class at GMU?
Your position: This paper will argue
that it is permissible, under certain
circumstances, to download a pdf
version of a book or article that is
required reading.
Position / objection
Clearly state all the
premises (reasons)
that you believe
strongly support your
position. Cite sources
from your references
that support your
argument.
Then clearly state at
least one objection to
your position, and
give the reasons that
would support that
objection. Cite
references that
support the opposing
argument.
Counter objection / Conclusion
Now, counter the
objection to your
argument. Show why
you believe the
objection is weak and
your position is
strong.
Conclude your paper
by restating your
position on the issue.

Final Course Paper Template
This template provides the basic outline that you should follow when writing your final course
paper. Your own words should fill in the spots that currently have ellipses (â?? . . . â??) or that are
surrounded by brackets (â??[]â??). You do not need to include the bolded headings; they are there
only for guidance. Finally, please feel free to change any of the wording as you see fit, and also
to change the number of sentences or paragraphs in the paper, but please stick to this general
organizational format. (Material that is written in red below is just example material.)
1. Introduction
In this paper, I will argue that . . . [insert thesis statement here; e.g., â??it is morally
impermissible for private entities to employ data mining technologies in conjunction with â??optoutâ?? policies about such practicesâ?]. I will argue that this thesis is true because . . . [insert a
general description of the reasons you will offer here (you do not need to give a thorough
description of them in this first paragraph; the basic goal is to let the reader know what to
expect); e.g., â??using such technologies in conjunction with opt-in policies puts the consumer at
great risk while typically keeping them ignorant about that risk]. I will also consider the
objection [or opposing position] that . . . [again, insert a general description of the objection or
opposing position that you will consider] . . . and will argue that it is mistaken because . . .
[finally, insert a brief general description of the ways in which you think the objection or
opposing position goes wrong].
2. Description/Presentation of Your View
[NOTE: There is room for a lot of variation in this section. What follows is only one
example of how you might put things; please note the instructions at the beginning of the
assignment, which say that you may phrase things however youâ??d like.]
The position that I endorse says [that it is morally impermissible to employ data mining
technologies in conjunction with â??opt-outâ?? policies about that data mining] [you would change
the material between the preceding brackets depending on the topic of your paper; this is just for
example]. The details of this position go as follows. First, â??data miningâ? is . . . [if you were
writing about data mining, as I am in the example, you would define â??data miningâ? here].
Second, an â??opt-outâ? policy is . . . [an explanation of â??opt-outâ? policies would go here; the idea
is to be sure to define any terms that a reader may not know, especially if they are central to
the idea you are defending]. Thus, my position says that . . . [insert a re-statement of your
position using the definitions of the terms so that it is absolutely clear what you are saying].
3. Supporting Reasons
[Again, there is quite a bit of room for variation in this section. The goal is to clearly
present at least one reason, though perhaps multiple reasons, for endorsing your thesis. The
example I give here assumes that there is only one reason being given.]
There is at least one very strong reason for endorsing my view. It is that . . . [insert a clear
description of the reason or reasons here; you should also explain how those reasons support
your thesis. This should not be a mere sentence; again, the way you phrase things here can vary
quite a bit from the way that I am suggesting. Your goal in this part of the paper is to explain
your reasons in detail and make it clear how they favor your view. If you are unclear about how
to do this, refer to our course texts as examples, and note the ways in which their authors explain
their reasoning in detail.]
4. Description of a Possible Opposing View
[As with #2 and #3, there may also be substantial variation here.]
It is possible that someone would object to my position as follows. [Insert a careful,
complete description of the possible objection. It should be clear what the objection says is
wrong with your thesis or with the reasoning you offered in support of it. The objection should
also be something that a generally reasonable person might think; it should not be outlandish.]
5. Response to Opposing View
[As with #2 and #3, there may also be substantial variation here.]
Ultimately, however, this objection does not succeed, because . . . [here, you should
thoughtfully respond to the objection that you described in #4, trying to make clear why,
ultimately, the reader should still agree with your thesis; this will again require more than one
sentence.]
6. Conclusion
Based on the above reasoning, I conclude that . . . [re-state your thesis here; you may or
may not use different wording in this restatement, but, if you do use different wording, make sure
that the wording you use has the same basic meaning as your original thesis.] [Finish the
conclusion by (in summary fashion) reminding the reader of the reasons that you have given for
endorsing your thesis. If space permits and you wish to do so, you may also conclude by
mentioning possibilities for further research or by suggesting possible implications from your
view for other related ethical issues.]
