the Cu wire and the color of the flame and the wire changed to be dark yellow
and the top of the wire melted. After that we did the Nacl or the salt and there
were not any changes The sugar turn to be a brown liquid after we burned it. At
the end we did the potassium chlorate and after we bumed it for little bid, it
turned to be a liquid.

In this experiment we will be doing a mixture of different solution we
will be using five beakers each beaker will have a different volume of a
red ye we will start with a 1 ml then stop at the last beaker with 5 ml
each beaker we will increase the valume of the dye and mix it with a de
inized water during the lab to analyze the difference between each
mixture and to record the changes that will be showing while we test
each mixture so we will be creating
4- Procedure B: Today we are going to find out how to analyze the
concentrations of colored water by using the spectrophotometer
machine. We will have to use 10 ml standard cylinder and also 4 ml and
5 ml ofcolored water and we will have to fill the cylinder up to 10 ml
with a water to get the absorbance, and we will have to choose or we
will be given an unknown liquid or colored water to find out the
absorbance of it too.
For this lab we started to get the materials together we used a
graduated cylinder that we first we put the red dye in it we start
with the 1 ml and added a de-ionized water up to 10 ml .After that
we did the same thing but we increase the volume 2ml then 3ml
each time we add de-ionized to water and when we add it we put
the mixture in a beaker so we had 5 beaker each had a volume of
red dye e end it with 5ml of red dye we had to beaker so we can
test it using a label each spectronic 20 to find the absorbance of
each mixture we had a great instruction at the begin of the class
to know the right way to work on the spectronic 20 we turn it on
earlier to warm it up we measured the wave length on 340-599
nm it have reading ofa wave length that we set it on 500 and data
on 0.we start using the machine and we switch it from
transmittance to absorbance to see the absorbance. Then we had
a test tube and wipe it very well to take off fingers prints or water
that might change the reading then we slide the tube and write the
reading for each red dye concentration
1. In this experiment we learned a helpful idea of how you could
determine a percentage of the cooing in most of the liquids that we drink
or even the food coloring that we use with some dishes. So that way we
can protect our health. In this experiment we started with a 1 ml up to 5
ml mixed with a water to see or find out the absorbance. At the end we
been given an unknown liquid and we put 2 ml of it to see it absorbance
and we did found out the equation from graph and the concentration of
diluted drink and then we did solved the equation for x and also we
found outthe concentration of a drink in bottle and also the serving size
with grams red dye per serving too.
